Independence Day
The 80th Independence Day Celebration was successfully organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) teams of KITS Engineering College on 15 August 2026 with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The programme was conducted to commemorate India’s independence and to inspire students to understand their responsibilities towards the nation and contribute towards building a stronger and developed India. The celebration witnessed the active participation of approximately 200 students, NSS and NCC volunteers, faculty members, and staff. The programme was graced by the presence of the Chairman, Secretary, Principal, senior administrative officials, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and other dignitaries. Their presence added dignity and significance to the occasion. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chairman, Dr. K. Subba Rao, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The dignitaries addressed the gathering and highlighted the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and the importance of patriotism, unity, discipline, integrity, and responsible citizenship. They shared valuable and inspirational thoughts, encouraging students to become responsible citizens and actively contribute to the progress and development of the nation. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, various student competitions were organised, including Drawing, Elocution, Essay Writing, and Poster Presentation. The competitions provided students with an opportunity to express their creativity, patriotic feelings, knowledge, and ideas about nation-building. The prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of these competitions in recognition of their outstanding performance and active participation. The prize distribution ceremony encouraged students to develop their talents, creativity, confidence, and competitive spirit. The NSS and NCC teams actively coordinated the event and ensured the smooth participation of all attendees. The volunteers demonstrated their discipline, leadership, teamwork, patriotism, and spirit of service throughout the programme. The inspiring messages delivered during the celebration encouraged students to adopt positive values, overcome challenges, and work towards meaningful contributions to society. The event concluded successfully with a renewed commitment among the students and volunteers to uphold the values of freedom, unity, integrity, democracy, discipline, and national responsibility. The Independence Day celebration at KITS was a memorable and meaningful occasion that strengthened the spirit of patriotism and inspired the entire college community to work collectively for a better and progressive India. The programme was conducted successfully with the active support and cooperation of the college management, higher officials, faculty members, staff, NSS volunteers, and NCC cadets.
