Independence Day Activities – NSS Unit, KITS Engineering College The NSS Unit of KITS Engineering College organised various activities on 15 August 2026 to celebrate India’s Independence Day and promote patriotism, creativity, national unity, and social responsibility among students. The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, providing them with opportunities to showcase their talents, creativity, and patriotic spirit. 1. Essay Writing – 140 Participants: An Essay Writing competition was conducted, in which 140 students actively participated. Students expressed their views on India’s freedom, the sacrifices of freedom fighters, patriotism, and the responsibilities of citizens, thereby enhancing their writing, analytical, and critical-thinking skills. 2. Drawing – 75 Participants: A Drawing competition was organised with the participation of 75 students. Students creatively presented themes such as patriotism, freedom, unity in diversity, and developed India. The drawings were evaluated based on creativity, theme relevance, originality, and overall presentation. 3. Elocution – 60 Participants: An Elocution competition was conducted with 60 students participating enthusiastically. The participants delivered speeches on Independence Day, patriotism, national development, and responsible citizenship. The activity helped students develop their public speaking, confidence, communication, and leadership skills. 4. Poster Presentation – 50 Participants: A Poster Presentation competition was organised with the active participation of 50 students. Students prepared creative and informative posters focusing on national unity, patriotism, social responsibility, and the vision of a developed India. The posters were evaluated based on creativity, originality, relevance, clarity, and presentation. Overall, the four activities witnessed the participation of 325 students, making the
