International Anti Drug Day
We are proud to share that the NSS team of KITS (Guntur) actively participated in the International Anti-Drug Day program held on 25th June 2026, in association with Guntur district youth services and welfare department. This program is part of a national-level movement launched by the Government of India on August 15, 2020, aimed at creating a drug-free society. Implemented under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the initiative focuses on curbing drug abuse and providing rehabilitation for those affected. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. N. Venkataravanappa used videos to illustrate to engineering students how drug abuse devastates lives and families. He emphasized the need for students to pursue their education in a safe environment and highlighted the importance of measures to help them grow into responsible citizens. He noted that teachers play a crucial role in fostering such an environment, adding that teachers, parents, and drug-prevention committee’s work together to mentally prepare students and steer them away from drug use. We extend our sincere gratitude to our Management for their continuous encouragement and support in organizing this event. We also appreciate the enthusiastic contribution of our NSS volunteers, whose dedication and teamwork played a vital role in making this awareness program a grand success.
